Hamburg, 7 August 2017 – XING AG, the operator of the German-speaking world’s leading network for professionals, is continuing to grow dynamically. A company that encourages its members to seize new opportunities in a drastically changing working world, XING AG achieved a total revenue of €86 million in the first half of 2017. This constitutes an increase of 22 per cent on the previous year’s figure (€71 million). All individual business areas played their part in achieving these figures, with each enjoying revenue growth in the two-digit range. B2B E-Recruiting segment growth of 39 per cent With €41.6 million in revenue, nearly 12 per cent higher than last year’s figures (€37.3 million), the B2C segment generated the most revenue at XING AG in the first half of the 2017 fiscal year. The B2B E-Recruiting segment exhibited the highest growth rates. The revenue generated in this segment is achieved through the range of services XING offers to help HR departments successfully tackle the skilled labour shortage. This growth amounted to 39 per cent, from €25.3 million to €35.1 million. The segment with the lowest revenue, B2B Advertising & Events, grew by a two-digit figure, 22 per cent, or from €6.1 million to €7.5 million, compared with the same time period in the previous year. At €27.3 million, EBITDA grew by 19 per cent compared to the previous year (€22.9 million). Profits also increased by 19 per cent in the first half of the year, from €11.7 million to €13.1 million. CEO Vollmoeller: “For most people, professional life is a local matter.” XING CEO Thomas Vollmoeller: “The first half of this fiscal year was the most successful in the history of XING. We were able to achieve these growth figures by consistently heeding the needs of our members and business customers. The fact of the matter is that, for most people, professional life is a local matter: local jobs, tips, employees, contacts. XING caught on to this early on. For us, local goes before global. Not only are people’s needs highly diverse, but also the conditions of job markets in different countries. And these days, in the German-speaking world, having a XING profile has become a matter of course.” More and more people are coming round to this view, as reflected in the fact that an unprecedented one million plus new members signed up in the first half of the year alone. By the end of June, XING had registered nearly 12.5 million members in German-speaking countries, and 13.2 million users in all, across all platforms. The amount of paying members in Germany, Austria and Switzerland rose to more than 970,000 members in the first half of the year. XING continued its product offensive unmitigated in the second quarter. XING E-Recruiting 360° is a new licence package for HR departments that, for the first time ever, contains all existing XING E-Recruiting tools in a single integrated package. Moreover, XING has significantly expanded the topic of video on the platform and now offers attractive video formats for B2B Advertising clients, the new video podcast “XING Talk” featuring well-known guests such as Prof. Dietrich Grönemeyer and Michel Abdollahi, and a range of further video podcasts by “Industry insiders”. As such, XING members now have a veritable treasure trove of useful information on working life and beyond at their disposal.  Following the second quarter, XING set the course for additional growth. “We acquired two companies in one week, with Prescreen being the fastest-growing candidate management system in Europe and InterNations being the largest network in the world for people living and working abroad.” With Prescreen, XING enables HR departments to effectively and efficiently manage the employment process – from advertising the vacancy to hiring the successful candidate – with the help of software. By acquiring InterNations, XING will be able to expand its strong position in the offline event segment.  About XING The leading online business network in German-speaking countries supports its members in mastering the transformations taking place in the world of work.
