Applying for a Vacancy at XING
Have you found a job matchingyour skill set that you can imagine yourself doing? That’s great! Just hit the “Apply now” button, enter the information required, and you’re done! All we really need is a CV. Feel free to send us an unsolicited application if you didn’t find any current vacancies matching your skill set.
We review every application we receive as soon as possible, but sometimes it takes us a little longer than expected. Feel free to contact us if you don’t hear back from us within a week of submitting your application.
First Interview (Remote)
If we think you may be a good match for the position (or other vacancies at XING), we’ll invite you to take part in a video call with at least one member of our tech team. During this call, we’d like to get an initial impression of you and your technical background. We may ask you some questions about your problem-solving skills and how you approach your tasks, and we might enquire about your reasons for wanting to join XING.
Please make sure you read up about the company and the job you’re applying for. We, in turn, are interested in finding about more about your current work and role.
Coding Challenge and Coding Interview
If we like how the first remote interview went, we’ll send you a coding challenge for you to complete at home. We use different challenges depending on your experience and the job you’re applying for, but basically you’ll have a certain amount of time to complete the set task. Don’t worry if you don’t complete the task within the allocated time – we’re mainly interested in your approach and the quality of your code.
At least two engineers will review your solution. If it meets our expectation, we’ll then arrange another video call with you to review your work with you. Feel free to ask our developers about the solutions they propose.
Final Interview (Onsite)
The last part of the interview process involves a meeting in person (sometimes we’ll do this remotely if an applicant is based in a country with a tedious Visa process). You’ll attend a thorough personal interview with a manager and a specialised recruiter where we’ll discuss your motivations and ambitions at XING. We also use a personality tool (Predictive Index) to support our decision and to prepare for this interview.
Often there will be an onsite technical interview covering a broader spectrum than the previous coding challenge. We may ask you to pair up with one of our engineers. You’ll also meet your prospective team.
One week after the interview at the latest we’ll arrange a feedback call with you to discuss our final decision.
