XING News GmbH is a subsidiary of XING AG.
It brings all relevant news and impulses from the various industries to our users. Our goal is to deliver the best possible set of information in the most convenient ways - in the browser, via email or on your smartphone. Our cross-functional, international team consists of more that 40 people. We cover the whole production chain including product management, UX, design, QA and development in backend, front-end and mobile areas. Help us shaping the future of this emerging market!

A challenging task

  • Be part of an awesome and professional cross-functional team in a mature and highly dynamic and agile and international development environment.
  • Work with our Big Data Stack to analyse and interpret big amounts of data.
  • Improve existing services and build new features to enrich the users' experience and help to deliver the hottest and most relevant content.
  • Provide our Editorial Teams with the data and insights they need in order to always be a step ahead of the competition.
  • As a Data Engineer, you will be also working closely with our Backend and QA Engineers, Product and Editorial Teams and many more.

A convincing background

  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of statistics, information retrieval and integration. Excellent hands-on skills in exploring large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with Scala. Ruby and Ruby on Rails experience is a plus.
  • Experience in technologies and frameworks like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka or Cassandra is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Proficient English language skills (German not required)
