New business the other way around-
quickest new contract ever in just 3 months!
My success story started in 2005 in Bratislava, Slovakia. I'm the global sales manager for an air cargo ground handling IT system and I have been steadily looking for new business opportunities and new customers.
I’ve been using XING since 2004 and it hooked me right from the start. I saw XING as the perfect means to build-up international business relationships. I used the search function in order to find new contacts at airports and forwarders. Forwarders deliver air freight to airports and are in close contact with cargo handling companies. Forwarders can also be a perfect door opener to many cargo handlers.
By scanning for contacts on XING in the "logistics" industry, I was able to write a message to Ulrike Schneider, who then put me in contact with a brand new air cargo handling company, ACO in Bratislava. We invited the prospective client to an air cargo conference and I was then able to sign a new contract within the shortest sales cycle ever -
in just 3 months from our first meeting!
This success was made possible through contacts. I was also able to generate more new business recently in 2007, signing a contract with another brand new cargo handler in Sofia, Bulgaria. It would have been much more difficult and time-consuming to generate this new business and enter new markets for our IT product without a tool like XING.
