Rails/ Linux Administrator (m/f)

We currently have a job opening for a Rails/ Linux Administrator, available at the soonest possible starting date. The position is based at our headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Working in a dedicated team of system administration experts
  • Managing the deployment process of our Ruby on Rails applications to ensure they meet productivity and quality standards
  • Monitor the security, stability and performance of our Rails applications and secure their operation for the future
  • Identifying areas for potential process improvements and increased efficiency contributing to the optimization of the department and continued success of the company
  • Relate with development, quality assurance and architecture teams in our Engineering Department

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 3 or more years of proven experience with administration of Linux-Servers
  • In depth knowledge of administration and deployment of Ruby on Rails applications
  • Knowledge in the administration of MySQL-Databases, Apache, Web-Servers and either Postfix or Exim MTA
  • Fluent shell scripting abilities
  • Knowledge of network setups
  • Good communication skills
  • Writing and speaking of English and German, fluency in one of the two
